Yealink phones autoprovision

NOTE:  All user packages support this; but some can be configured for single client only and assigned to use a softphone e.g. iPECS ONE.  Check with your technical support rep to verify.

Description:  

The currently listed phones below support an auto-provisioning URL to configure a Yealink phone whose MAC address is already assigned to a user.

Programming:

For supported phones, the auto-provisioning URL can be provided in one of two ways.

  1. (Recommended) DHCP option 66.  Have the network administrator configure this DHCP option to use the custom URL for the VLAN on which the phones will reside.
    • This ensures that any new phones brought up on this VLAN receive this automatically.
    • Should the URL ever need to be changed, it can be via single instance and phones rebooted to pickup the update.
  2. (Not recommended; but does work) Manually configure the URL on each phone via the web UI.
    • Obtain the IP address of the phone, typically go to Menu -> Status.
    • Navigate to the url of the phone, e.g. https://<your.phone.IP> and login (default is typically U:admin P:admin), then go to Settings -> Auto Provision and then configure the 'Server URL' field shown below.  The exact URL for a given customer can be determined as noted in the 'Related Info' section further below.

  2. To verify, in your portal, login and go to Customers and select Customer Info.

  1. Select your customer from the list in the top right pane and then underneath, you'll see several tabs.  Select the 'Phone Setting Info' tab.  At the bottom of this list is the 'Yealink Provisioning URL'.
